Our policy in relation to the different disciplines applicable to our work is very simple:

We can demonstrate that we do what we say we do

Every project undertaken by Substruck Ltd. is of the highest standard and can be seen clearly in our attention to onsite and offsite safety, environmental awareness and commitment to quality.

These high standards are clearly demonstrated in the following areas:

Here at Substruck, we pride ourselves on our strong record for health and safety, which we can demonstrate through the maintenance of an ‘A’ grade Safe-T-Cert over the past three years. Safe-T-Cert is a certification scheme designed for certifying the safety management systems of contractors working in the construction industry. This high level of accreditation is only awarded to approximately 10% of those registered on the scheme.

The Managing Director of Substruck Ltd. holds a NFQ Level 8 in Safety, Health & Welfare at Work from University College, Cork. He strongly believes that if a contractor is not aware of safety procedures and requirements, it is most likely that they cannot complete the project to current standards or best practices.

Whilst the team here at Substruck have proven to be our harshest critics, the annual audit we undertake with Safe-T-Cert helps us to identify and implement further improvements. We fully realise the importance of health and safety in any working environment and can guarantee that if you want a project completed safely, the team here at Substruck Ltd. can and will demonstrate how all projects are completed with safety and health as an integral part of our working processes.

Substruck Ltd. have garnered an excellent reputation and demonstrated an unparalleled record for completing works consistently and to the highest of standards. This claim can be clearly substantiated by perusing our exceptional catalogue of client and associate referrals, which have been attained over the past 16 years. The level of service and quality of work delivered by Substruck has never wavered. All projects over the past 16 years have been completed in the same manner, whether during the Celtic Tiger or the recent recession. Our priority has always been to maintain the very highest of standards, despite the sometimes-tough trading climate. We are proud that this is one of the reasons we are still trading today as a respected and quality conscious service provider.

In 2014, Substruck were one of the very first contractors in Ireland to register with the Construction Industry Register of Ireland (CIRI). The CIRI is a Government supported online register of competent builders, contractors, specialist sub-contractors and tradespersons who undertake to carry out construction works. The primary objective of the CIRI is to be recognised as the fundamental and leading online resource for consumers in the public and private procurement of construction services. Substruck’s Managing Director is a member of the Construction Industry Federation Cork Branch Executive, this membership allows us to keep up to date with industry developments and standards at all times. Ultimately, we would like to see CIRI registration become a mandatory requirement throughout the construction industry, thus allowing another control to be put in place to improve work standards and protect the reputation of our industry.

Substruck’s Managing Director has a genuine interest and passion for all matters relating to problems underground. The projects shown on this website are 100% authentic and all the images displayed for your enjoyment were taken over the past 16 years on Substruck projects. You will find zero ‘cut and paste’ content on this site, as with all our projects, this website has been developed by a team of experts who want to set a new standard for excellence in the Irish construction industry. We hope our website conveys to you our dedication to the very highest standards of finish and represents clearly the same level of commitment we put in to our projects below ground.

Substruck are aware that a good reputation can be lost in an instant and we work hard to ensure this will never be an issue. Our dedication to quality management and customer satisfaction is what makes us our own harshest critics.

The protection of our environment is an integral part of the Substruck ethos and is essential in delivering projects that have minimal impact on the immediate and surrounding area. Each project undertaken by Substruck will have a site-specific waste management plan developed and outlined in Form 6.4 Risk assessment. This waste management plan is tailored specifically to each project and is developed to eliminate or minimise waste on site. Substruck operates a simple but effective reduce, re-use, recycle policy whilst segregating at source. Unfortunately, at this time, there is no facility in Cork City or County that allows us to recycle concrete, however, we ensure all rubble waste is loaded on to suitable skips and transported to a registered facility in County Waterford for processing.

Substruck have developed a pollution policy that requires us to ensure that new drainage does not possess any cross connections. We are very cognizant of identifying such cross connections during drain surveys and will always act in accordance with our strict pollution policy. The Substruck team will actively promote sustainable drainage systems in their simplest form, even when this can pose significant challenges where space is limited. The on site crew will also ensure that no grout is released to local drains or watercourses by careful monitoring and disposing of excess grout into our ‘grout barrels’ for safe disposal.

Substruck are committed to reducing the impact of nuisance, noise or other potential disturbances on the general public. The nature of our work means that the vast majority of our projects are completed in sensitive residential and urban areas with limited space for plant machinery. Despite this challenge, our efforts to minimise the impact on all members of the public has been regularly commented upon and appreciated by our clients and associates over our 16 years in the industry.
